Sprucing Up Our New Kitchen: Decorating Adventures in May 2023

Hello there, my kitchen-enthusiast pals! It's Crystal, and I'm thrilled to have you back on my channel. Today, we're embarking on a journey to transform our brand-new kitchen into a Pinterest-worthy haven. But, before we dive into the decorating extravaganza, let me clarify what I mean by "starting." You see, decorating isn't a one-and-done deal; it's more like a marathon. So, fasten your seatbelts, and let's have some fun jazzing up different areas of our kitchen.

Sprucing Up Our New Kitchen: Decorating Adventures in May 2023

First things first, let's give our kitchen a little TLC by wiping down those shelves. Honestly, I don't think I've wiped them since we moved in over a month ago. Time flies, right? But I've finally reached that "Aha!" the moment when I can start decking the house with decorations Now, I say "starting" because, let's face it, decorating a new space with the ideal décor pieces isn't always easy. is like a treasure hunt. I plan to use what I have on hand for now and then gradually figure out what I need to shop for.

But hey, there's good news! I'm planning to take you on some exciting shop-with-me adventures in the coming months, so we'll build a fantastic base of decor together. Let's get this decor party started!

Glass-front Cabinets: Let There Be Light

Our journey commences with the dazzling glass-front cabinets. These gems come alive when we switch on the under-cabinet lighting, and the glass gleams with morning sunlight. I'm starting with white pictures, clear glass items, and faux greenery. It's a simple yet elegant touch. Oh, and those chic glasses – they're Goodwill treasures for now. But my heart yearns for something with a little more pizzazz. It's on the shopping list!

Symmetry Is the Name of the Game

Symmetry Is the Name of the Game

I'm all about symmetry, so the other cabinet mirrors the first, but with different items. White pictures and faux plants grace one side, while clear bowls occupy the other. As for what goes here, I'm open to suggestions. Glass canisters? Glass pitchers? There are countless options, and I'm searching!

Bringing in Some Black

Our kitchen features a black vent hood cover and a stunning black kitchen island, and I want that black magic to shine on our shelves too. Enter a fabulous black Kirkland's picture and a sleek cloche from Amazon. However, I might tweak this arrangement a bit as I'm still unearthing my decor treasures. It's been a wild adventure, and, truth be told, I almost didn't want to share this video because I'm not 100% satisfied with the outcome.

The Middle Shelf Magic

Ah, the middle shelf – my absolute favorite! It gets adorned with colorful cookbooks and some timeless Hearth and Hand items from Target. It's where the magic truly happens.

The Bottom Shelf: Practical Meets Pretty

The bottom shelf is where I keep things I use daily. Coffee, sugar, tea – they all have a home here. And, of course, some charming white bowls. I'll be adding plates too, but they're currently playing hide and seek in my boxes.

Countertop Chronicles

Countertop Chronicles

Our countertop is the Drop Zone, but we keep it simple and functional. My programmable Keurig takes center stage, and a mug tree hides an outlet while showing off my favorite coffee mugs. As for the cake stand, it's where I display muffins for the kids. It's all about those little touches that make life a tad sweeter.

The Grand Kitchen Tour

Our kitchen might be more minimalist than what I'm used to, but I'm loving the simplicity of it all. Over time, we'll sprinkle in more decor, but for now, it's all about appreciating the space and finishes.

So, that's a wrap for today's video – it might not be the polished masterpiece you're used to seeing, but hey, we all start somewhere. Before I embark on my shopping adventures, I want to hear from you. Do you relate to this decorating struggle, or do you enjoy these behind-the-scenes videos?

Stay tuned for more fun and fabulous kitchen decor journeys, and thanks for joining me today. 🌼🍽️🏡
